Donor Opportunities
The following are a few examples of some of the charitable opportunities available to donors at the College of Judea & Samaria:
Scholarships
A scholarship for a student studying at the College for one academic year (two semesters) will cost approximately $2,500. This covers the cost of basic tuition. Funds contributed for scholarships can also be distributed to a larger number of students, in smaller amounts.
In terms of the recipients of the scholarships, the individual contributor is allowed to designate a student or students from any particular group (i.e. new immigrants from the former Soviet Union, demobilized soldiers), socio-economic area (i.e. development town residents, underprivileged neighborhoods) or ethnic group (i.e. Ethiopian, Moroccan, Persian).
For a scholarship to be named after a particular benefactor, the donor must make a commitment of support for a minimum five-year period. The scholarship(s) will be presented annually at a formal ceremony involving the recipients, friends and family members.
Library Development
There are several dozen sections in the College’s main library, in areas such as civil engineering, architecture, economics, social work, physiotherapy, Judaism and Israeli heritage.
Donor opportunities for the library involve three main options: 1) $50,000 - $500,000 for a section (depending on the size of the section), 2) $5,000 for a stack (consisting of six shelves) and 3) $1,000 for a shelf (consisting of 50-60 books).
The contributor to a section will be honored with a plaque and a formal dedication ceremony, while the donor to a stack or shelf will be acknowledged with a plaque.
Auditorium
As with every major institution of higher learning, the computer classroom is an integral part of a student’s academic studies. This is especially the case at the College, given the higher percentage of students studying in the various technical fields.
There are currently 15 computer classrooms on the Ariel campus, with between 25-45 terminals per room. The cost of a computer classroom is between $75,000 - $100,000, depending on the size of the room and the number of computers and related equipment.
The contributor to a computer classroom will be honored with a plaque and a formal dedication ceremony.
Policy Report
One of the College’s main policy think-tanks, INSAC (Israel National Strategic Assessment Center), publishes regular reports on issues of importance to the academic community and general public.
The reports are approximately 15-30 pages in length and focus on areas such as U.S.-Israeli relations, Diaspora affairs, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and Islamic fundamentalism. The cost of a report is between $5,000 - $10,000, depending on the size of the report and the number of copies printed.
The contributor will be acknowledged by having his/her name listed on the cover page of the report as the benefactor.
