A great variety of studies in social sciences are supported by our Regional R & D, and are being performed by its research teams. Some of these studies are funded by competitive research funds and some are applied research studies funded by authorities and establishments active in the region. The studies are based on different aspects of research: sociology, psychology, political science, economics and law, and relate to fields of interest such as:

  • Studies of communities and communal settlements: community strength and social     capital.
  • Environmental psychology: place attachment, place loyalty, living under stress or threat of terror, and quality of life.
  • Zionism, religion, ideology and education: the next generation, "youngsters of the hills".
  • Labeling (?) and the media: Attitudes toward settlers, settlements and settler's movements.
  • Economic and marketing aspects: values of houses, regional involvement.
  • Military and security: Influence of pre-military preparatory schools on the region.
  • Demography and health: population characteristics, birth rate and growth, migration to and from the region, health and life stile.
  •  Municipal services: studies on satisfaction
