My mathematical genealogy

Research interests:

My main interest is Robotics. My research deals mainly with theoretical robotics. Using Algebraic topology I investigate the configuration spaces of parallel mechanisms and their Topological singularities. in the past few years I've also been having fun with some practical robotics. Most of my practical work takes place at the KCG laboratory which I'm head of, together with Dr. Boaz Ben Moshe. We deal with a variety of problems such as medical robotics, global path planning and climbing Robots. At the KCG laboratory we also investigate various computational problems.
Among my current research projects are: Actuation and conguration spaces of linkages with D. Blanc, Haifa University. A micro robot arm for laparoscopic surgery with B. Ben Moshe and Y. Mintz, Hebrew University. This project matured to be "MeMic innovative surgery" a commersial company. An autonomous climbing robot, with B. Ben Moshe. Catheter leading robot. Guide wire threading with M. Shoham, Technion. Walking robot with a tail, With B. Ben Moshe. Flexible robots, With A. Shapiro, Ben Gurion University. Jellyfish robot, With S. Shoval. Virtual robotics for education, With B. Ben Moshe, Iris Rechav. Coding for H264 protocol, With B. Ben Moshe. Ultrasound imaging simulation system, With B. Ben Moshe and Roni Tepper, Meir Medical Center
