Students of the Ariel School of Architecture have access to an advanced model building workshop as part of the curriculum to teach them about construction materials and technologies.
The Workshop is equipped with an assortment of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and manual tools to be used on a wide range of materials such as wood, metal, perspex, glass, plaster, concrete, stone, ytong, and aluminum. The workshop promotes the use of sustainable materials in modeling tasks.
In addition, a wide range of technical literature and material catalogues is available to students at the Laboratory for Ecological Architecture which is an integral part of the workshop.
The adjacent Service Courtyard enables the construction of models on a 1:1 scale and one of the school’s studio classes constructs a fully functional building of about 25sqm annually.
The workshop is open to all students during regular working hours and those hours are extended before presentation dates.
