The Department of Molecular Biology at the Ariel University has been operating independently since 2003, when it received the approval of the Council for Higher Education to award the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Molecular Biology. The department offers a two-year Master of Sciences (M.Sc.) degree program, as well as a four-year Ph.D. program.
Students gain valuable practical experience at the department’s modern laboratories where they apply the theoretical knowledge they have acquired. Third year students are required to undertake a laboratory project in one of the research laboratories, accompanied by an advisor from the senior faculty.
Many graduates continue on for advanced studies in the fields of the natural sciences, life sciences and medicine, and find employment in hospital laboratories and Israeli HMOs, as well as in research, marketing and management positions in bio-tech companies.
