The Department of Resource Development and External Affairs office for Ariel University (AU) is responsible for fundraising and for promoting and advancing AU through its international network of Friends Associations.
The office works with various offices throughout the campus in the following areas: soliciting gifts to the University, producing events, preparing marketing materials and publications, receiving delegations and guests, handling donor relations and processing donations.
Yakov Gaon– Vice President for Development and External Affairs at Ariel University
As Vice President for Development and External Affairs at Ariel University, Yakov directs planning and implementation globally for all aspects of capital development at Ariel University.
He also plays a key role in acting as an executive representative for Ariel University, developing strategic relationships that enable AU to maximize its impact with its resources.
Yakov held senior positions for global hi-tech leaders directed overall global services, program management, sales and consultancy for world-class companies Applied Materials, HP, NCR and IBM.
Yakov’s volunteer work includes mentoring Ariel University students in the school’s entrepreneurial start-up program, founding the NBNO (New Businesses-New Opportunities) hub for early-stage start-ups in Israel and serving on the Board of Directors for Refua Betuha – The Association for Preventing Transmission of Infections in Medical Centers.
Yakov holds a BSc degree in Industrial and Management Engineering from Ariel University, a Master in Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the PMI institution.
Adrian Treger—Director of Donor Relations, Dept. of Resource Development
After successfully heading the International Resources & Strategic Planning department for the non-profit organization Tzohar, Adrian moved to Ariel University in 2018 where he serves as Director of Donor Relations.
Originally, from Cape Town, South Africa, Adrian graduated in International Marketing from the AAA School of Advertising & Marketing, the country’s leading marketing institute. He then worked for leading international advertising agencies such as Ogilvy Mather and J. Walter Thompson in Cape Town.
Making aliya in 1997, Adrian studied at Yeshivat Har Etzion before volunteering for combat duty in the Israel Defense Force (IDF) NAHAL brigade.
After serving in the IDF, Adrian returned to Marcom & Sales and in 2006 founded ABT Communication Consultants which provided marketing consultancy for numerous global entities such as Bank Leumi Le-Israel and Harel Insurance as well as hi-tech and biotech firms.
