Postdoctoral Researcher in Numerical Astrophysics
The Department of Physics in Ariel University is looking for a postdoctoral researcher to work with Dr. Amit Kashi.
The research topic may be suggested by the applicant, preferably related to massive stars, binaries, eruptive transients, or closely related phenomenon.
The position is initially for 1 year, extendable for longer duration contingent to funding and productivity. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Physics or Astronomy from an accredited institution, and should have a proven experience working with running hydro-dynamical, stellar evolution, or radiation-transfer simulations.
A possible starting date for this position is October 2021, but the date is flexible. Ariel University is located in the City of Ariel in Samaria, Israel, about 38 kilometers east of Tel-Aviv. It became a University in 2012 after being a public college for 30 years.
The Department of Physics includes 24 faculty, and the Astrophysics and Cosmology group is rapidly expending.
A new HPC center, presently constructed in Ariel University, will be available for the post-doc, so there will be no need to spend time applying to external resources.
